NBYC - Hospice Invite

Dear Niantic Bay Yacht Club Member:

Sixteen year’s ago the Niantic Bay Yacht Club began the first Regatta to benefit Hospice Southeastern Connecticut. The event has grown to include participation from 8 other yacht clubs with racing held throughout the summer and fall months.  Our club has been and continues to be a leader in the success of the Regatta each year.

For 20 years Hospice Southeastern Connecticut has been available in the home to anyone in need of end of life care regardless of a person’s age, disease or financial status. They are also able in many cases to provide hospice care in skilled nursing facilities.  It is only through the support of the community that hospice can continue to provide all of its services.

Hospice Southeastern Connecticut will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with a Celebration of Life. Love. Laughter., Saturday Evening, November 12, 2005 at the Mohegan Sun Uncas Ballroom.  The evening will feature years of memorabilia beginning with Hospice’s founding in 1985; a unique silent auction and entertainment by nationally know comedians Gary Gulman and Alonzo Bodden. All members are invited to attend and invitations will be mailed shortly.

In light of this upcoming celebration we will not be holding our traditional Regatta Cocktail Party at Old Black Point. However we will be holding a Shore Party, Under the Tent Sunday, September 25, 2005, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.  We invite you as our guests.

Please join us as we celebrate our continued support and commitment to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut and our Regatta. This is a great chance to enjoy good company and light fare at the end of the sailing season.  T-shirts and raffle tickets will be available.

For more information please contact Nancy Healy at 739-4011 or  Mary Ellen Smith at 739-7647.
