The Member’s Galley has been left a mess lately.
We need your help. First, clean up after yourself. There is no cleaning
person, steward, etc assigned to clean this galley. It is the members to
use and everyone who uses it must clean up whatever they use. Wash your
own dishes, clean the counter top, put away any serving utensils that you use,
etc. If you have a large quantity of dishes, the dishwasher works and you
are welcome to use it. The club supplies detergent which is stored under
the sink. If you note that we are low on supplies or if anything breaks
or malfunctions, please notify a steward immediately so we can get additional
supplies or order a suitable repair. Also, if you are not certain of the
proper use of any club equipment (dishwasher, grille, etc) please ask one of
the stewards for instructions. Second, do not store food, dishes or anything else in the
galley. The club owns a number of serving utensils, platters, etc. which
are available for your use and they are the only items to be stored
there. Bring your food down the day you are going to use it and take home
leftovers when you are finished – the cupboards are not to be used for
food storage. Any food left in the galley will be thrown out. If
you have refrigerated food you can store it in the refrigerator the day you
plan to use it. If there are extenuating circumstances and you need to
have food in the refrigerator for more than a day you must put your name on it
and an “expiration date” – that is, the day you are taking it
home. Any food left in the refrigerator without a name or beyond that
date will be thrown out. (And no dates more than 4 days in the future
– please.) The stewards have been instructed to check the galley first
thing every morning and throw out any food as per the above. With everyone’s cooperation we can keep the galley
neat and usable. |
