NBYC - New Galley Guy Needed

“Galley Dave” Naklink has been running the NBYC galley for the past several years.  He has started a new full time job and is unable to run the galley this summer.  That leaves us looking (desperately) for a galley guy for this summer.  The Board wanted to share this with the membership and also ask for help in finding a replacement.

Just as a bit of background, the galley is open from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm 7 days a week.  It opens on weekends only starting on Memorial Day weekend and then goes full time the 3rd or 4th week of June – when lessons start.  That continues until Labor Day weekend when it goes back to weekends only through the end of September.  The menu is limited but there is plenty of room for creativity.  The Galley has been run as an outside “contractor”, not an employee of the club, and we would prefer to continue to run it this way.  The contractor buys his own food, hires his own galley help, sets his own prices, etc.  We provide the facility and utilities at no charge.  Obviously, only members and their guests can use the galley – the contractor cannot advertise or promote the galley to the public.

If you know of anyone who would be interested in this position please contact Vice Commodore John Brousseau @ shorelinecutter@aol.com .
