We are watching a number of forecasts for the weekend
weather – none of which sound delightful. The most optimistic forecast
calls for winds east/southeast in the upper teens changing to higher winds out
of the west/northwest. The gloomiest forecast has a topical storm with
winds over 40 passing over us. This would take place Saturday late
afternoon into Sunday morning. We will continue to watch and expect more
accurate updates as the storm approaches. At the least all slip holders should be sure their boats are
secured, sails and canvas removed or tied down, additional lines used with
adequate chafe gear, and adequate size fenders properly placed. If a forecast with reasonable certainty develops that calls
for exceptionally poor conditions for the club dock system we may require people
to remove their boats. We will send out an email to that effect as
soon as that info is known. Please check your email regularly over the
next days for updates. |
